258/365/Dream

When I first heard about Andrew Weil’s 4-7-8 breathing technique to help me get back to sleep, I was skeptical, but in trying it, I find it often works. (Unfortunately, sometimes I forget to try it.) It’s great for someone who wakes up a lot. Watching this video again, I realize I should be incorporating the practice into the day.

  1. I'm glad you posted this. I haven't done his breathing technique in years, but now I want to see if I can still do it. I learned to breathe at the Himalayan Institute, and I was a good breather for a long time. Then babesiosis messed that up. Maybe regular practice of the 4-7-8 technique would help to restore at least some of it. Thanks!

  2. This is good info for me, as my sleep is ragged these days, at best. Thanks!

  3. I didn't know this. I do find deep controlled breathing is relaxing. Must try it.

  4. I have used this. I also feel like a good deep breath can help when I am trying to get to sleep, so this method makes sense.
