she recognized her “from another life”). Had she ever lived in Hoboken*? I
texted her—yes. Had she had any dealings with All Saints? Yes! Later,
Margie discovered that Martha’s mother,
whose funeral was that afternoon, had been living in her deceased Aunt Marilyn’s house.
*New Jersey, of course.

ReplyDeleteMy goodness. The connections. Last New Year's Eve the guest of the host's son's sister lived in the house another guest had owned years ago. How they figured it out, I don't know -- one of those small-talk conversations that begin "You lived in Silver Spring? My sister lives in Silver Spring."
