Beth, who was twelvish, like me, claimed that
Donny Osmond, who was seventeenish, was writing her love letters, and she
produced them (no envelopes), and let me read them, and his handwriting was remarkably
exactly like Beth’s, which is kind of amazing, don’t you think? Donny got
married a few years later. Oddly, not to Beth.
I admire Beth's industriousness--she's definitely part of the upper echelon of liars.
ReplyDeleteWow . . . if their handwriting looked similar, they probably had a lot in common. Too bad he wasn't a dedicated correspondent.
ReplyDeleteCruel of him to lead on a twelve-year-old like that.
ReplyDeleteOsmond was a cad, not like Bobby Sherman, who loved me.
ReplyDeleteMine was David Hennessy from Dark Shadows. He was my secret boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 13, we had exposure to Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, or the Bay City Rollers. That was it. We had to pick one.
