Jack thought she needed to do both. The girls should be relieved of the worry of the bipolar side of the family. (They may need to be worried about other things, of course. Like alcoholism, Sarah joked/didn’t joke.)


  1. What was Jack's reasoning for telling her mother though? That's a tricky one...

  2. Depends how old the mother is, doesn't it? I don't like the idea of confronting an old, frail and vulnerable woman, but she needs to know for sure, right? (I think I'm losing track - I need to reread this all through at once.)

  3. I think on February 1 I'm going to read all of these through from start to finish.
